Sharing our mysterious cultural heritage with the world
Cultural Heritage Visiting Campaign
The Cultural Heritage Administration has been striving to preserve and transmit the history of cultural heritage for a long time. In order to proudly introduce cultural heritage not only to Korea but also to the world, the Cultural Heritage Administration is conducting a cultural heritage visit campaign. As part of that project, the Cultural Heritage Administration developed a cultural heritage visit course focused on ‘World Heritage’ and ‘Intangible Heritage of Humanity’. Visitors can visit the ten paths of Gaya Civilization, Kwandong Pungryu, Baekje High Road, Mountain Temple, Seowon, Prehistoric Geological, Folklore and Nature, Sorit, Royal Family, and Millennium Spirit. Along the way, tourists can encounter 75 cultural heritage sites.
The Cultural Heritage Administration is marketing through the production of <Brand Video>, <Korea in Fashion>, which sensibly captures the charm of hanbok and global promotion, <Zeppetto Public Relations Hall>, and the Korean Pavilion at Dubai Expo. In particular, a public relations hall is run at Incheon International Airport, where foreigners arrive first, so that visitors from all over the world can discover our cultural heritage in line with a variety of events such as performances and exhibitions.
Where are our cultural assets that went out?
Journey of cultural assets outside the country
The Cultural Heritage Administration is also conducting various events in connection with museums.
One of them, ‘The Journey of Cultural Heritage Outside the Country’, is an exhibition held at the National Palace Museum of Korea, which explores the process of finding our cultural assets scattered around the world. Ten years after the establishment of the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, the management of foreign cultural assets was unified and able to respond systematically. However, there are still many cultural assets that have not returned or have not been managed, and this exhibition helps visitors with a new point of view for those cultural assets to return.
In addition to this exhibition, the Cultural Heritage Administration is helping people see the Blue House, which was recently opened to the general public. In addition, the Cultural Heritage Administration is helping people to get closer to cultural assets through the event commemorating the 625th anniversary of King Sejong’s birth, and the development of portable sundial ‘Ilyeongwongu’.
