The Korea Nature Conservation Association is a NGO established in 1986 to monitor and protect nature and natural environment. It has more than 300,000 members and has numerous affiliated organizations including the Korean Land and Ecology Recovery Association.
The goal of the Korean Land and Ecology Recovery Association is keeping clean streams, rivers and whatever related to water. It focuses in particular on the four major rivers in South Korea that are Han, Nakdong, Geum and Yeongsan. Under the leadership of Kijin Kwon, 12 professors in the field are monitoring the cleanness of the rivers and take actions whenever needed.
