¡ã NFT Artist Ildong Kim

One good thing about possessing an NFT art work is that it is not copiable. The owner has the sole property right with the original file. With fast growing NFT market worldwide, people’s interest in NFT art is also increasing.

Ildong Kim is an NFT artist. He used to be a webtoon artist but turned to NFT as the income was not as good as his fame in the field. His Dalma series attracted a great attention not long after its release and numerous galleries made a contact for exhibitions.

He was reluctant as first since as he never thought he was an artist but the curators pushed it forward which eventually turned out to be a good experience for him. Now, he is one of the leading figures in the field at home with his book about NFT art on the shelves of the bestseller.

He opinionates that NFT has a great potential as many young people are already active in that virtual spaces and it will become common in near future if not now. He says that unlike stocks and coins that goes up and down in its value, NFT art works are not as fluctuate as that.

His work <Coinman> is consisted of individual scenes of the coinman traveling the world. At the end of the journey is a donation box where people wishing to see the exhibition insert a coin and the coin does the same cycle again and again. Kim tended this cycle to be as entertaining as an exciting movie we watch at the cinema.

Impressed by the idea, a blockchain donation solutions company Cherry suggested a collaboration and Cherry and Kim has set sail the journey for follow-up donation exhibitions. As part of the initiative, Kim recently held an engraving exhibition themed on pop art and media art at the LeeSeoul Gallery. <PowerKorea>
