Kangwon Green Farm takes part in export of Gangwon agricultural products to the world

Despite the soaring price worldwide, the export of South Korean food is an all time high. An Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ministry report says that the K-Food export volume has surpassed 10 billion USD last year. Behind this excellent achievement lies the hard work of small and medium companies.

If the major food companies contributed to the volume of the export in the past, small and medium companies have played a great role in this record high volume of export these days. Fresh agricultural food cultivated in Gangwon Province especially is doing well in South East Asian market. 

Gangwon Province is second to none when it comes to undamaged natural environment, clean air, clean soil and clean water. Naturally, the agricultural products produced in the region are fresh and delicious. The number of export-driven farms in the province is estimated 785 last year and the export volume increased by 15.38%. Among the farms, Kangwon Green Farm is showing a strong presence. 

Kangwon Green Farm is partnering with self-grown crop farmers in the region. Its flagship brand Sunny Farms’s 7 kinds of pickled vegetables and the Ginseng Dried Laver are already settled its name in the market. The salt used in the pickled vegetables is Himalayan reduced-sodium salt and the sprout ginseng pickle in particular is made of the salt with ginseng, sugar and vinegar. 

Kangwon Green Farm CEO Sunhee Lee recommends you to enjoy the pickle with Korean beef for exquisite taste. If you do not like the taste and smell of ginseng, she recommends you to try the perilla leaf pickle. 

Ginseng Dried Laver is popular in Vietnam. It is made with ginseng seeling of 2 to 30 days of growth and it contains 6 times more saponin than the ginseng root. It is sold at Gangwon Product Hall in Hanoi, ICON International online shopping mall, Newmarket and Sharkmarket. 

Serving as the president of the Gangwon Distribution Association, Lee is leading the promotion of regional business regardless its sectors in cooperation with the province. The association takes the importance of finding channels to both domestic and overseas markets seriously. No matter how fresh the products are, they all come useless if there is no market to sell. Playing an important role in pioneering the market in Vietnam, Lee and the team is now working on the huge American market. 

“As for the coming years, Kangwon Green Farm is to introduce a variety of kinds of meal kits since the market is fast rising at the moment. Also as the president of the Gangwon Distribution Association, I will make more collaboration with industry experts so that our excellent products of Gangwon are more recognized in the world” says Lee. <PowerKorea>
