President Moon had attended the police appointment ceremony on March 17 for 3 years in a row during his term since 2020. Moon rewarded 2 presidential prize winners out of total 166 newly appointed police officers on the day. The two winners were Yeonjun Seo and Youngwoo Seo. 

Attended on the day were high officials of the Blue House and of the National Police Agency, Interior and Safety Minister and lawmaker Youngkyo Seo. 

First Lady Jungsook Kim gave bunch of flowers to all 166 police officers with boutonniere made of freesia and astrantia meaning new start and protection respectively. 

On the day, Moon emphasized responsible investigation of police and settle down of investigation rights adjustment between prosecution and police. 

Moon talks with Zelenskyy on phone

President Moon and his Ukraine counterpart Zelenskyy talked on the phone March 3. During the 30 minute talk, Moon showed his condolences to those who lost lives and their families, encouraged Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine and wished a quick recovery of peace and stability. 

Zelenskyy explained what was going on in Ukraine at the moment and asked Moon to provide available support for defence and recovery. 

Moon said South Korean government had decided to provide $10 million humanitarian assistance alongside medical goods at first hand, adding that, Ukrainians in South Korea would remain until the situation got stable and also asked Zelenskyy to provide necessary support for Koreans in Ukraine. 

Zelenskyy said he would provide necessary support for Koreans in Ukraine and thanked Moon for support and encouragement. <PowerKorea>
