2023 World Traditional Medicine Expo Sancheong is set to be held in Sancheong County, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, from September 15 to October 19 next year under the theme 'Promise for Future, Traditional Medicine of the World'. The expo will be collaborated by the Sancheong County, South Gyeongsang Province and the Ministry of Health and Welfare and they will use this international event to promote Korean medicinal herbs grown and made into health supplements in the county to the world. Back in 2013, the three parties held the same expo to mark the listing of Dongui Bogam, a traditional Korean book of medicine, in the UNESCO alongside celebrating the 400th anniversary of publishing the book. Around 2.16 million people paid a visit to the expo and they harvested 8 billion profits ($6.7 million). 

Sancheong County is surrounded by Jiri Mountain and has been famous for medicinal herbs for hundreds of years. It not only boasts spectacular landscape and rich natural resources but also produced a number of renowned independent movement activists including Jeongsuk Gwak and the county created a theme park 'Namsa Yedamchon' to commemorate his deeds and patriotism. 

The county also has started recovery of Hwanajeong (pavilion) built 620 years ago and it is showing 45% completion rate. The county is pouring 3.2 billion won ($2.6 million) and goals to finish it by March 2022. Hwanajeong is one of the three pavilions alongside Chokseok Pavilion in Jinju and Yeongnam Pavilion in Miryang. <PowerKorea>
