Moon tours Korean Hall at Expo 2022 Dubai

As the final leg of the official visit to the UAE, President Moon toured the Korean Hall at the Expo 2022 Dubai on January 15 accompanied by the Expo's executive director Nahyan bin Mubarak AI Nahyan and Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah bin Zayed AI Nahyan.

Moon watched AR video promotion of the World Expo 2030 Busan and AR contents at the vertical cinema and moved to the performance hall to watch a traditional Korean music performance Massive Vibe themed on Beoljubujeon (traditional Korean rabbit opera) collaborated with the song Down Comes the Tiger of Leenalchi and a song of BTS alongside ordinary audiences. At the end of the show, Moon gave warm encouragement and claps to the performers and shook hands with every single member before leaving the premises. 

The Korean government poured 47.1 billion won ($40 million) to the Korean Hall and it is the 5th largest scale after the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Italy among 192 participated countries in the Expo. Titled as Smart Korea, Moving the World to You, the Korean Hall displayed dynamic energy of Korea through 1,597 spin cube screens. More than 500,000 people have visited the Korean Hall by the time of Moon's visit.

As part of his official schedule in Cairo, Egypt, President Moon paid a visit to Adly Mansour station of Cairo Metro Line 3 to encourage engineers of Hyundai Rotem that manufactured 256 compartments of the Line 3. Moon praised highly of Hyundai Rotem's manufacturing Cairo Metor Line 1, 2 and 3 with cutting edge technologies collaborated with 80 small and medium Korean companies also. 

"Hyundai Rotem currently is being on an additional deal and the Korean government will provide proactive support. It is encouraging that economic cooperation used to be made in building and plants between South Korea and countries in the Middle East in the past but it is now expanding to various areas including eco-friendly transportation. And Hyundai Rotem is pioneering the way. I hope you are not complacent but take the momentum to push forward your hydrogen powered trams alongside" encouraged Moon in his speech. <PowerKorea>
