Hyundai Motor, Mobis, Steel, E&C and Glovis received world’s best ESG at DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Indices), receiving the DJSI World certificates at the 2021 DJSI Awards held December 10 at Hyatt Seoul. The 5 families earned the highest marks in climate change, human rights and supply chain management, and risk management. A company official tipped that the company had endeavored through forming ESG consultative groups, strengthening carbon neutrality strategies and introducing ESG risk assessments as the key reasons to obtain the certificates. This year, the South Korean car giant established a sustainable management committee within the managing boards of affiliates, started applying ESG policy guidelines and introduced WEF SCM (World Economic Forum Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics). Apart from DJSI, 12 Hyundai listed affiliates obtained A grade at the ESG assessment carried out by the Korea Corporate Governance Service. 12 affiliates are: Kia Motor, Hyundai Motor, Steel, E&C, Glovis, Wia, Rotem, BNG Steel, Innocean, Motor securities and AutoEver.

 

Hyundai supplies 2,300 vehicles for disabled in Libya

 

Hyundai Motor has signed a deal to supply 2,300 vehicles for the disabled from the civil war in Libya announced December 2. The numbers and models are 800 Tocson, 700 Avante and 800 Creta. 50% of the price is covered by the Social Solidarity Fund Investment Corporation. Coming along with 2,300 vehicles are a donation of two emergency vehicles for COVID-19 patients from Hyundai. Hyundai Motor Asia and Middle East division head Bangsun Jeong said that the partnership formed with the Libyan government would play a milestone in the African market and the company would keep working hard to help people regardless their physical status to enjoy their right to move. <PowerKorea>
