Seosan City, South Chungcheong Province, is pushing forward its 15 strategies to create a better city to live and work. The 15 strategies are being processed under 5 categories: citizen-center administration, listening and engagement, sustainable urban development, education and culture driven, and down to earth welfare.

[Ganwoldo Harbor Improvement]

The city has secured 7.3 billion won ($6.2 million) budget from the Oceans and Fisheries Ministry for remodeling the worn out Ganwoldo Harbor. The money will be poured into better communal workplace, fish net storage, welcome center, signboard, fish stores, activity center, community center and villages in and around. The remodeling is set to complete in 2024. City mayor Jeongho Maeng said that the remodeling would not only improve overall appearance and functions of the harbor area but also create new jobs and better income.

[Directly Managed Stores]

The city has secured 100§³ space in NongHyup Hanaro Mart in Jamheungdong to sell locally produced goods from April next year. The city also is building a 120§³ directly managed store set to open June next year in Haedanghwa Park. Farmhouses who want to sell their goods have to take compulsory 12 hour training on product management, and locally approved marks are attached on the products. Mayor Maeng said that the city would keep increase the number of directly management stores from current 20 so that local farmers and fishermen could sell their products to more people. <PowerKorea>
