President Moon had a time to listen to the people in Q&A on November 21 and it was broadcast live on KBS 1TV. It was second time after he had the same listening 2 years ago. He opened the meeting by saying that he would do his best until his term ends after 6 months which was still a long time considering that he was facing many problems to solve including the quarantine. The host announcer Sejin Jeong made the Q&A smooth and below is two of the notable questions and answers from 200 onsite panels and 100 online panels.

Q. When do we get edible vaccines and will the clinics and hospitals prescribe?

A. I would like to point out first that South Korea is the third country to have succeeded development of edible vaccines. In fact, 11 companies are still working on this of which 2 of them are in the phase 3 of clinical test. So the government is looking forward to the results. Meanwhile, the government has already signed a purchase contract overseas that will accommodate 400,000 people and they are scheduled to arrive in February next year. But we are working to bring forth the schedule.

Q. Rocket soaring housing price makes me nervous. Are you working on solving this issue and do you have action plans?

A. When it comes to this matter, I must say sorry first as I already have done a number of times. Looking back, it makes me think that I should have more focused on supply. I regret that the 2.4 measures should have adopted earlier. But one thing I’d like to say is that we have had a record high number of moving in and we still have many houses to offer alongside already planned out offerings in the future. I expect the supply issues will soon settle down. My administration hasn’t had enough time to make up to our failure on this but we will do our best at least to find a promising prospect before my term ends.

Ending the meeting, Moon emphasized that South Korea ranked within the 10th power in the world in many areas such as defense, culture, health, quarantine and diplomacy and we must be proud of ourselves. We must be proud of ourselves, he said, because our pride would be the driving force of our future. He added what we had achieved today came from all of our hard work and he closed the meeting by asking the people to give lasting support so that the government would wrap up its 5 years of journey. <PowerKorea>
