Hyundai Motor holds 2021 Open Innovation Lounge

Hyundai Motor held the 2021 Open Innovation Lounge from 15 to 19 November at its headquarters. The Lounge was introduced to encourage staff members to develop creative and new technologies through cooperation with startups so that Hyundai cars move fast in loading the developed technologies at first hand. The Lounge this year was held under the theme ‘Paint the Innovation and Beyond’ and 120 futuristic technology scenarios jointly brought up with 12 startups were demonstrated. The 12 teams were chosen based on excellence in customer satisfaction, feasibility and innovativeness and they were from 1 Korea, 5 North America, 3 Europe, 1 China and 2 Israel. All necessary vehicles and production costs were provided by Hyundai for a 3 to 10 months period to finish. Smart glass and inside seat sound system particularly attracted attention this year and they are being realized at the moment. 20 startup CEOs and industry officials from America, Germany, Finland, China, Israel and the Netherlands attended. 

 

Hyundai starts running E-pit at National Science Museum

Hyundai Motor started running E-pit installed at the National Science Museum from November 29. E-pit is Hyundai’s ultras fast electricity charger installed 4 units nationwide including the Museum. 4 chargers can charge up to 260kW in such a short time and 2 chargers up to 100kW. E-pit uses DC Combo Type 1, the South Korean standard charging, and therefore cars with other types of charging are not able to use E-pit. If you are a driver of Ionic5, EV6 and GV60, you can use E-pit. The Korean car giant is to install more E-pit at Seoul station, Gwangmyeong Autoland and Jeju within this year.
