[Eco-Friendly Energy]

Using eco-friendly energy is no longer an option but a must. The patience of the Earth has reached its end and it is sending warnings to us with unusual and unprecedented flooding, earthquake, fire and storms. While fossil fuel is blamed the most for the pollution, governments and companies in the world are turning their eye to solar, wind, water and geothermal energies. The move is not only present in the industrial field but also is spreading fast to home and agricultural use.

[Geothermal Boiler]

Geothermal heat is received as one of the most eco-friendly energies. It does not require modules that are needed for solar energy and it can be used semi-permanently once installed. Geothermal boiler can still be new to many people but big buildings like Lotte World Tower, Seoul City Hall and Government Complex Sejong are partly using geothermal boilers while KEPCO Naju and the Prime Minister Office in Sejong are using 100% geothermal power. Geothermal boiler uses heat underground. In order to do that, we need to drill the earth down to 150 meters vertically and insert PE pipes in U shape to circulate the fluids. Geothermal boiler can save energy bill by 75%, the cheapest of the all existing methods, according to Donghwan Jo, CEO of General Ground Water Development.

[General Ground Water Development]

Geothermal boiler was introduced in the nation 25 years ago. Since taken part in the government project, General Ground Water Development has focused on the field of geothermal boiler only but nothing else. The company has obtained numerous patents notably EP Pile Geothermal Cooler (No.10-1696170), Pan Coil Cooler and Heater (No.20-2016-009927), and Geothermal Vinyl Greenhouse Thermostat (No.10-2015-0091042), and is recognized as to have done the largest number of geothermal boiler constructions and installations in 2020 with 142 installations. But the capacity of the company surpasses more than 200 a year thanks to its years of accumulated expertise, of using cutting edge equipment and of excellent customer services in this single field.

[Government Subsidy]

Those who want to install geothermal boiler can receive a government subsidy that cover 50% of the cost as well as a local government subsidy that covers further 30%. In other words, the householder, pays only 20% of the whole cost. A 165 square meter big house, for example, consumes 17.5W and it costs around 22.3 million won ($18,839) of which the householder needs to cover only around 4.9 million won ($4,139). (PowerKorea)
