[Cleaning as Professional Area]

The first thing many Koreans do after moving a house or office is cleaning. Unlike in the past where people cleaned the house or office themselves, it is widely received among people today that cleaning is a professional part of services. This shift of conception has been proved by an explosive increase in number of cleaning service providers. “Professional cleaners are aware of the types of the house or office and the materials it used. This is because then we can decide which cleaning equipment and chemical agents we should better use for satisfactory results. How to clean and how to finish is another part of expertise” says Haegeong Park, CEO of Pakomi Cleaning.

Park used to teach English to children. Rather tired of repeating the same schedule every day, and a little bit worried about decreasing number of children, she decided to use most of her talent in organizing things on the occasion of cleaning her friend’s house. “I never knew I would run a cleaning business but my friend was like ‘wow’ at my cleaning and the words spread fast from mouth to mouth. Just a friendly ask for the cleaning from her acquaintances grew in number and I gradually gained confidence and eventually opened a business” says Park. The door of Pakomi Cleaning is wide open for young people and women on a career break who wish to challenge something new. Startup advices and help are provided alongside her accumulated skills and knowhow which is well manualized. All methods of tools and applications are are written and exampled in the manual so that even a novice starter can do it like a professional. “Pakomi Cleaning is the first cleaning service provider that introduced ‘aftercare services’ in South Gyeongsang Province. This is because our teams are too proud to receive any complaints on the work we have done. From beginning to finish and afterwards, our excellent teams are determined to bring 100% satisfaction but 0% complaints. For this, we have kept our ‘one team per one house (or office) a day policy’.” Working for Pakomi Cleaning does not require previous experience but only the willingness to grow the business together. Within 6 months of opening the business, the name Pakomi Cleaning is now found in the capital region. (PowerKorea)
