Korea-US Foreign Minister’s Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Euiyong Chung met with US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken on September 22 on the margins of the UN General Assembly. They exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations between Korea and the US, Korean Peninsular issues, and regional and global affairs.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Attends 2021 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Euiyong Chung attended the annual Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) which was held under the theme ‘Shared Values: Building a Green and Inclusive Future’ in Paris, France, from October 5 to 6. As Vice-Chair of the 2021 OECD MCM, Chung presented a remark in the MCM’s Opening on October 5, along with the Chair of the MCM, US State Secretary Antony Blinken, and the Co-Vice Chair, Finance Minister of Luxembourg Pierre Gramegna.

Telephone Conversation between Korea and UAE Foreign Ministers

Minister of Foreign Affairs Euiyong Chung had a call with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed AI Nahyan on October 16. The two Ministers agreed that the two countries should further expand and develop cooperation in various fields on the basis of their special Strategic Partnership.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Jongkun Choi Meets with Brazilian Secretary for Bilateral Negotiations in Asia, the Pacific and Russia

On October 8, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Jongkun Choi met with Secretary for Bilateral Negotiations in Asia, the Pacific and Russia of the Federative Republic of Brazil Marcia Donner Abreu, who is on a visit to Korea to attend the 12th Korea-Brazil High Level Policy Consultation. Vice Minister Choi noted with appreciation that the Korea-Brazil High Level Policy Consultation served as a meaningful opportunity to discuss ways to enhance substantive bilateral cooperation. In particular, Choi called for the Brazilian government’s interest and support for the participation of Korean companies in government-led 5G network projects in Brazil.
