[Makullee]
Makullee is traditional Korean rice wine enjoyed by commoners for a long time. For almost all Koreans, it is the liquor that pops up in their mind whenever it rains. The rain pouring down, a gulp of the tin bowl of makullee followed by a chopstick of a piece of buchimgae (pancake), simply just makes them the happiest people on Earth.

[Meongin Brewery]
Meongin Brewery is proud to have 100 years of making makullee. It started from the 100 year old Hamra Brewery which relocated its base into the National Food Cluster Iksan with change of its name to the current Meongin Brewery. Three brands are being sold on the market: Gounnim, Yetnal and Jajutbit. The flagship Gounnim boasts smoothness in taste, sweetness in smell and a clean finish. Yetnal, on the other hand, is popular in Iksan, Gunsan and Seocheon while Jajutbit is sweet potato in color and smell as it is a main ingredient alongside rice. Jajutbit was tossed as the official banquet liquor at the 2021 International Food Materials Expo and proved its quality.

[CEO]
Soonsun Hong, CEO of Meongin Brewery, started working for Hamra Brewery, run by sister in law 20 years ago. Now, he runs the business with his daughter. The father and the daughter strictly follow the 100 years old making tradition and keep the 10 day expiry date rule to avoid any artificial substances to be added for longer life on the shelves. Hong is expecting to sell their brands online in addition to the current limited offline markets in the local so that more people can conveniently buy and enjoy the excellent taste. (PowerKorea)
