(PowerKorea) “There are many fitness centers in the market but I think not many centers run a system that takes care of both trainers and members like family. Trainers are in need of good working environment to work together in the long run and members are in need of trust. This was the point I observed and regretted while I was working in the field, and this also was the reason that I opened my own business to bring difference” says Heonseong Gwak, Chief Health Trainer of Fancy Fitness.

Fancy Fitness opened its door in Dongtan November last year. Despite business restrictions due to social distancing, the center is experiencing a steady sales growth. Gwak ascribes this to transparency on price, young trainers in their 20s, open communication, clean working environment, engagement and responsibility and above all customized personal training programs.

Unlike walled fitness centers, Fancy Fitness’s whole glass walls that give fantastic city views also play a role in addition. The interior is neat and tidy, the air is kept fresh, and personal training is tailor-made according to each client’s needs and wants and conditions. Complaints are dealt promptly and suggestions and opinions on training, equipment and services are duly answered with necessary measures.

“My colleagues are my biggest asset. When I was struggling at the initial stage of the business, it was my colleagues who encouraged me and who didn’t leave me but only showed trust. It was really touching and they were the driving force. They made me more responsible, more diligent and more devoting.”

Gwak values quality more than quantity. If a cup of coffee dropped its value to 500 won ($0.43) he would never manipulate the value to 5,000 won to look good. Running business in legal boundary and in moral responsibility is very important for him because a good business often is built on this principle. In the same respect, he emphasizes on each trainer’s sense of responsibility and practical skills which he constantly listen, check and talk with in open communications. This way, he says, they improve training programs and bring up better future direction of the business.

“I think Fancy Fitness is still in its beginner’s stage in the field in the commercial side. So we must be humble but we are challenging at the same time thanks to it. I and my excellent trainers and staff are determined to make a new example in this fast growing fitness market through attention to detail strategies and management system.”

Fancy Fitness is ambitious to grow as one of the best fitness brands in the nation with young blood and creative ideas as its weapons.
