(PowerKorea) To be an accountant in South Korea requires a license after passing the exam organized by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. A competent account is one who has in-depth knowledge and years of experience in the field and is capable of providing professional advice and services on tax and finance. 

Baeksu Kang, Chief Accountant of Inkeong, has more than 30 years of experience in the field. He started working as a public servant at the National Tax Service from 1977 until 1992 during which he built extensive knowledge and experience in tax and administration. After retiring from the position, he obtained a tax accountant license and opened a business in Bundang, Seongnam in 1998. 

He gained recognition gradually through more than 300 times of accounting services for the next 5 years after opening the business and made his presence firm and strong by taking various positions in various organizations: tax advisor of the Korean Optometric Association Bucheon, tax advisor of the National Employment Service Association Gyeonggi, chairman of the Bucheon Sosa Theme Park Promotion Committee, and chairman of the Democratic Party Gyeeonggi New Town Development Committee. 

He served as a member of the Gyeonggido Assembly from July 2010 to January 2012 in its Construction and Transportation Committee. He made contribution to eco-friendly free school meal, Student Human Rights Ordinance, and Small Business Owner Protection Ordinance. In recognition, he received Mokmin Medal at the Gold Mugunghwa ceremony in 2011. In the same year, he published an essay <Respect to Basics> which contains his activity as a member of the assembly and about regional development. In the book, he emphasizes on self-reflection, clear vision and simpleheartedness which are the power to change the world. 

In 2014, he published another book <Challenge for Dream and Hope> and in 2016 he challenged for the National Assembly in his home town constituency of Naju, South Jeolla Province. He is determined to serve people rather than counting as a professional accountant and to work for the people and development of the nation.
