(PowerKorea) Economy and Finance Minister Namki Hong paid a visit to Seohae Line construction zone 5 to check health and safety and supply of steel reinforcement. Hong pointed out recent safety accidents that took a number of casualties and emphasized ‘safety first policy’. The government gave orders to 166 public institutions to carry out on-site safety inspection last week with a manual from the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The inspection should include measures for sweltering heat and quarantine rules. The Seohae Line construction zone 5 saw a number of the infected cases December last year and one seventh of the workers (252 out of 1,566) are foreigners. Hong also checked on the shortage of steel supply since the pandemic and said the government is running a task force to monitor the supply and demand and bring up necessary measures when needed. 

Hong holds enlarged staff meeting

Hong held an enlarged staff meeting on August 23 at the Sejong Government Complex. The attendees discussed on monthly policies, financial and foreign currency, Budget and Accounting Committee meeting, quarantine, recovery of economy and global policy trend. Hong rewarded prizes to staff with excellent services on the day.
