(PowerKorea) A maternity unit is a medical department where doctors closely observe the process of people’s life and death. It is a place where preciousness of our life and nobility of humanity are felt vividly. Seongnam Central Women’s Clinic Clinic Doctor Junghyun Byun has worked for maternity units in Gangnam Seoul and the capital region for 16 years and built extensive knowledge, knowhow and experience. The lifecycle customized medical services of Seongnam Central Women’s Clinic is designed from this of her 16 years of expertise in the field.

People today live in a society where things happen and move fast. Swept by this wave of the busy daily routine, many of them tend to lead a life without a much care for their health. 2 years ago, Clinic Junghyun Byun, Doctor of Seongnam Central Women’s Clinic introduced lifecycle customized medical services with a convenient quick visit and leave for busy modern people.

“Patients are from 5 year old children to 80 year old elderlies. I myself am a mother of two children and I know very well that women from a child up to 40 suffer from various symptoms and diseases as well as anxiety and stress. Lifecycle medical services with a convenient quick visit and leave came from this of my experience and it targets not only treating symptoms but also easing the anxiety and stress” says Byun.

A high school girl paid a visit complaining menstrual irregularity and sometimes no period at all. After careful consulting and observation, Byun ascribed it to stress, sleeping habit and eating habit. The solution was a combination of medical prescription and mentoring on improving the bad habits and the daily routine. Byun points out that many female diseases are related to stress, worrying, anxiety and depression. Therefore it is important to ease down these symptoms alongside providing effective medical care.

“Building trust between the doctor and the patient requires time and effort. The former should focus on what is going on in and outside of the patient and try not to hurt the feelings of the patient even unknowingly. When the patient opens heart, she lets out their hidden or depressed feelings and wounds. This is the point where the treatment gets accelerated. So it is important for the doctor to listen carefully to the patient, sympathize with her and be a mentor.”

16 years of walking a single path, Byun empties herself through yoga and meditation no matter how busy a daily schedule is. She wakes up 5am to climb a mountain during which she prepares today’s work in mind and a will to listen to the patient. According to her, prevention is the most effective and economic way to fight the disease and the doctor can find the sign of the disease in advance by listening carefully to what the patient says and her habits.

Strict to herself, she is also strict to staff especially the way they receive and treat patients. For this reason, when she interviews new staff she focuses more on personality.

“Patients are someone’s family who deserve respect no matter where they are. I want my clinic where patients feel they are well treated and respected. This is not only good for business but also actually affect improvement of symptoms. I and my staff will keep doing our best to serve every single patient like our family member.”
