(PowerKorea) Hyundai Motor opened a high speed charging station E-pit at the 2 floor underground of Mirae Asset CENTER1 in Euljiro Seoul. The 4 of 260kW high speed chargers and the 2 of 100kW chargers are expected to help eco-friendly vehicle drivers to make a quick charge anytime. Regardless car brand, electric cars with Combo 1 charging type can use the Hyundai high speed chargers but the time and cost varies car to car. The chargers at the CENTER1 run 24 hours. As of April 2021, the South Korean car giant has built 72 chargers in 12 E-pits in highway resting areas with anticipated opening in Incheon, Daejeon and Jeju within this year. Hyundai Motor is accelerating release of eco-friendly models including Ionic 5 and G80.

Hyundai Motor and Jeju sign MOU

Hyundai and Jeju signed a MOU to build eco-friendly vehicle ecology. The MOU encourages both parties to expand high speed charging stations, build hydrogen charging stations, increase supply of hydrogen vehicles, promote eco-friendly industry and spread eco-friendly vehicle campaign. For this, Hyundai runs Tamra EV specifically designed for Jeju with positive reviews. Tamra (former name of Jeju) EV provides information on electric vehicle, location of charging stations and availability, sharing information of malfunctioning charging stations and on-demand charging services. Hyundai is to build itinerant charging stations by using the surplus power from wind turbine blades planted in Jeju.
