President Jo Tae-im started engaging in women and human rights movements from the 80s and endeavored to recover independence of women socially and economically. Her passion has been well received and recognized and she lately was elected as the first president of the Federation of Korea Consumer Groups.

Jo has led a life of sharing and helping people in need. She developed many programs for women to be socially and economically independent through Happy Mom Academy. The programs include caregiver, nurse, childcare, postpartum care, Korean language instructor, pet manager and barista. She also formed Happy Mom Art Group and organized choir and fashion show in a way for women to benefit from entertainments.

Most recently, Happy Mom made a film The World without Violence and it was funded by 1,000 won donation campaign. Many renowned figures willingly made donation and the film is expected to be shown in international film festivals.

It is notable that Happy Mom Sheriff in particular is helping children living with grandparents, single parents and elderlies living alone; this year Happy Mom Sheriff sent free sanitary pad to teenage girls in need. And Jo is ambitious to grow the number of the sheriff to 3,000 nationwide. Happy Mom has 130,000 members as of 2021 and they are included foreigners living in Korea and Korean Chinese.

Jo studied at Chung—Ang University and Sookmyung Women’s University and obtained a doctor of science. She completed two CEO courses at Ewha Womans University and Seoul National University. “I grew up watching my mom playing various roles in various organizations for 40 years and I learned importance of women’s right and social impact. It is only natural for me to engage in women and human rights activities and I will do my very best for Happy Mom to play an important role to eradicate any forms of violence in our society and to promote independence of women and to help women in need” say Jo with determination.
