Virus killer mask Ko-Killer is to level up excellence of K-Quarantine

(PowerKorea) South Korean masks have global recognition. The US, Europe and Japan as well as many parts of the world have placed orders for excellence in quality and safety. This is partly because the competition between mask producers in the nation has been unprecedentedly heated up and it is a must for a company to secure quality, safety as well as price competitiveness in order to survive in the market.

Shinhwa Group is one of the many mask producers in South Korea. But the company has surpassed ahead with its innovative KF94 Pass Over and Ko-Killer quality and function-wise. Relatively a late starter in the field (June 2020), the company yet has built a strong presence in the field with these two flagship lines in addition to KF80 and KF-AD (droplet cutoff). 

The name Pass Over was borrowed from a major Jewish holiday Peasach also known as Passover by the company chairman Ha Chang-ho. Despite such a short period of time, Shinhwa Group made it possible to produce daily 1.5 million masks through its cutting edge production system. More surprisingly, the company developed the world’s first virus-prevention and killing material: the material literally kills virus rather than filtering it and it obtained approval from the FDA. 

Named as Ko-Killer, the mask has proved to kill 99.9% virus at a test carried out by the KOTITI and 99% of MRSA and pneumococcus. Because it is not coated but original yarn, it is fire-proof and can be used semipermanent. The test used CPE and gene amplification methods by exposing the material to COVID-19 culture medium to see the changes; and the cytopathic effect and virus concentration significantly reduced after 30 minutes and to 99.9% after 4 hours. 

Chairman Ha Chang-ho is ambitious to expand his business to B2G (Business to Government) from B2C and B2B with this innovative Ko-Killer. Alongside, he is planning to make the most of its advantage to develop protective clothing. 

Ha is serving as the president of the Korea Quarantine Goods Industry Association. Under his leadership, the association donated 50,000 KF94 masks to the World Korean Sports Association followed by another donation to vulnerable members of the society.
