(PowerKorea) Opened August 2020, Ara Korea Hospital in Haman County has a very important meaning: it is the first hospital in the county that runs 24 hour emergency center. The hospital is four stories over ground and 2 stories underground, has 200 sickbeds and runs orthopedics, internal medicine, radiology, pediatrics, plastic surgery and many more.

“Until now, residents in Haman County and around had to drive to Changwon City or Jinju City to get treated at emergency centers. But they had to take the risk of dying during the moving as ‘the golden time’ is a matter of how fast they get treated. So I’m very pleased to finally open the 24 hour emergency center in the county” says Lee Myeong-ja, director of Ara Korea Hospital. 

The hospital has built a cooperative treatment system with experts in 7 fields including neurosurgery and radiology. Also, the hospital is equipped with latest medical equipment: MRI, CT, ICT, C-ARM, sonograph, high-pressure oxygen machine, electromyograph, endoscopic examiner, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation device, laser machine, walkmate, tilting table, rehacom, two-tiered horizontal bolt board, hand evaluation kit, bone mineral densitometer and many more. Bone mineral densitometer especially is very handy as bone density-related disease is common in female farmers. 

The good news also is that residents do not need to travel far anymore to receive the 5 national health screenings: stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer. What is more? The hospital runs dementia treatment and a funeral hall.
