¡ã JS / Chairman Ha Man-jin

Ha Man-jin, Chairman of JS, is rather more famous for his charity he has been doing for 10 years. Alongside running his business and charity, he also is taking a number of important roles in various organizations including the Jinju Disabled Volleyball Association and the Charity Movement Association. 

"I worked in a factory when I was 15 and I got my finger amost crushed to the bone by a machine. And I was hit by a car on my way back home when I was 20 and I had surgery three times. Fortunately, I could walk though crippled. Rather than curse my fate, it dawned on me that I should live by helping people" said Ha.

He has grown tobacco, rice and plum for 40 years in Hadong County and has written around 3,000 poems of which 6 were selected by the 2011 Literature Trend Awards and the 2012 Modern Literature Trend Awards. As a talented man, he also writes songs. He has written around 1,500 songs and singers from the whole nation are coming to visit him to get a song or two, according to him.

Despite harsh life he had endured, he neve lost hope and zeal for study. He made for Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology at the age of 46 and studied microbial technology with a scholarship. He carried on his academic zeal at Korea University Graduate School of Policy Studies and pushed it further to a doctoral degree in North Kore study at the same school. He served a number of positions within the university circles and is now working as a special professor at Open Cyber University. 

From 2011 to 2016, he donated 320 million won (285,969 USD). He also donated 166 million won to 20 organizations and 100 million worth gifts and money to various disabled, welfare and social organizations. He received a presidential prize and numerous other prizes from Korea University, South Gyeongsang Province, and Ministry of Environment. PowerKorea.
