In an effort to contain the virus, all those who enter public and commercial places in South Korea must check temperature before entering. These are department and grocery stores, educational institutions, government offices and entertainment establishments, etc. The thermometers used must be medical device approved to prevent mistakes or the place gets up to 3 million won (2,757 USD) fine.

The South Korean touch-screen specialist Aha Health Care, an affiliate of Aha Information & Communication,'s Smart Pass made this job easier with skin-infrared temperature checking technology. Approved as a medical device December 2020, Smart Pass is known to be the South Korea's first face recognition skin-infrared thermometer.

Smart Pass showed 0.2¡É error range at 90 times of test in different environment. It is loaded with German Heimann's high precision infrared sensor and Aha Health Care's algorithm technology. Prior to the approval December 2020, Smart Pass obtained KC mark in April, passed the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in August and registered the FDA in September the same year.

Alongside temperature checking, Smart Pass reads whether a person do not wear a mask. In fact, it can read eyes of people entering the building for identification thanks to the sensor made by global sensor specialist company Senstime. The maintenance of Smart Pass such as update of the software is done online so it is fast and cost-effective.

Currently, Smart Pass is installed at all 64 affiliates of Samsung, all buses and subway lines in Gimpo City, and VIPS (family restaurant), SGV (cinema) and Lotte Mark. 250 offices of the National Health Insurance Service nationwide and Samsung semiconductor factories are soon to be installed. Despite its advanced technology and functions loaded, a Smart Pass costs only 25 million won (2,297 USD).

Starting with Smart Pass, Aha Information & Communication is expected to release UV LED sterilization module soon. The company has original technology of electromagnetic induction type touch sensor and sterilization-driven touch display which will be applied to electronic whiteboard, electronic desk, touch kiosk and ATM.
