Ceramics is a technique of using inorganic materials to make desired forms by heating up. People on earth have lived with ceramics for a long time and clay, bricks, titles, glass and cement are probably the best known examples. Ceramics are heat and corrosion resistant and have high intensity. As science and technology advance, the ceramics industry also has seen epoch-making discoveries in decades.

Feel Ceramic is a South Korean company specialized in functional ceramic balls which are being used for red clay beds, moisture control, water purification and fertilizer. Sung Min-jo, CEO of Feel Ceramic, has years of expertise in moulding, drying and burning of ceramics. Though it sounds simple, the process requires high level of technique and experience as the result is likely to be nothing or even harmful otherwise: the radon mattress bed is a good example. In fact, all minerals contain radon, says Sung, but only extremely limited amount of radon below the allowed level were found in the Feel Ceramic's functional ceramic balls.

"It is vital to mix minerals in the right balance and to burn them in the right temperature in order to gain perfect functional ceramic balls. And this requires not only the knowledge but also years and years of experience" says Sung.

Sung majored in ceramics and has walked a single path as a ceramist for the last 30 years. He has made more than 500 kinds of ceramic products, supplied to various client companies and earned words of praise with high satisfaction marks especially in meeting the deadline, the reason the number of his client companies have been steadily increasing.

"Because I know in which time of the year a company needs an order, I make necessary amount in advance to make the supply smooth and punctual. Taking note of each client's need and want also play vital in this."

Taking the momentum of increasing sales figures, Sung recently has signed a deal with Korea's No.1 zeolite selling company to supply 150 tons of functional ceramic balls. To meet the target, a new 2,644 square meter big factory is to be built within November this year.
