Jirisan Byeolmaru is a health functional food grower famous for the products themed on medicinal herbs and root vegetables such as ma, burdock, bellflower root, potato, sweet potato, corn and ginger. 

The husband CEO Jeong Min-hyo, who wanted to be a cartoonist, and the wife CEO Kim Yoon-sook, who used to be a public servant, reached to a mutual understanding on what they do with their lives and thus born was Jirisan Byeolmaru.

The couple is creating synergy by Jeong taking care of cultivating and Kim of distribution and selling under the mutual motto: the best, the highest and the freshest. 

“Ma is often called ‘the mountain eel’ because of its strong stamina. Burdock is rich in vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, protein and fiber. Whether it is ma, burdock, bellflower root, potato, sweet potato, corn and ginger, all the products we make contain our sincerity, diligence and attention to detail” the couple say. 

Jirisan Byeolmaru obtained GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) and HACCP and won the best prize at the 2019 Farmers Information Awards for excellent use of social media platforms which increased sales by 200% on previous year and for cooperation with fellow farmers. 

Jirisan Byeolmaru made a presence among health functional food brands by presenting the products and cultivating environment on KBS1 Hometown Report.
