Many countries take artificial intelligence as one of the key players to raise national competitiveness in the coming years. They are increasing the budget and enthusiastic about fostering AI specialists. South Korean government also has brought up a plan to foster 37,000 AI and software specialistsand the ICT Innovation Square project is set to fly.
IT Innovation Square will cluster specialists of AI, SW, block chain and new technologies. And the winner for this project has gone to the Chungcheong Provincial Consortium that includes Daejeon and Sejong. 4 local governments, 3 universities, 1 association and 1 company are involved and Korea Polytechnics Asanhas been appointed as the ICT Complex South Chungcheong Provincial Center.
The Consortium is to pour 23.8 billion won (20.6 million USD) until 2023 to foster 4,000 industry specialists. The budget breakdown in order is: Daejeon 8.6 billion won followed by South Chungcheong 6.6 billion won, North Chungcheong 6.3 billion won and Sejong 2.3 billion won. All involved local governments and organizations must facilitate online education system against the COVID-19 and that must be ready to shift to off line at any time. While the Consortium being praised for the best ever scale and preparation, an official of Korea Polytechnics Asansaid: “The project has three keywords: regional, digital and practical manpower. If successful, we will see high tech manpower pool, job creation and economic synergy.”
Korea Polytechnics Asan has been fostering talented manpower capable of carrying out cutting edge tech tasks. While around 1,000 students are to be trained in Chungcheong Province, Korea Polytechnics Asanhas facilitated the rooms designed specifically for AI, block chain and software that will accommodate around 50 students. The university has started recruiting students since last month for AI, block chain and software that will encompass NET programming, deep learning, bid data, No-SQL, Hadoopprogramming, EEA, ERC-20, Dapp, hyperledger, chain codes, chain platforms and security.
