There is a hydrangea tea plantation on 700 meter high above sea level in Parwang Mountain in Ganwon Province. The leaves of hydrangea trees are important ingredients of gamro tea. From long time ago, people presented gamro tea to Buddha for it has sweet and clean taste. Some say the tea taste like nirvana. In fact, it is rich in saponine and rutin. 

Gamro700 CEO Lee Seung-hoon has been cultivating hydrangea and gamro tea at the plantation for 45 years. He grows hydrangea and makes gamro tea without any chemical substances but only the natural way and method. 

"Gamro tea is a native herb tea in South Korea and the tea made at Gamro700 especially is enhanced with sweet taste and mint flavor. Mint flavor happens during the tea making process and it does not happen if the hydrangea grown in the lower land" explains Gamro700 CEO Lee Seung-hoon.

Gamro700 is a three generation family business and has obtained GAP and organic processed food certificates, ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000, and Kosher and halal certificates. 

Gamro tea at Gamro700 goes through nine steps of making process under strict health and hygiene control. It is notable that Gamro700 is the sole Korean gamro tea maker that uses fermentation process. 

"Fermentation process is the core process of creating deep taste and of removing unique smell. It is melted with 45 years of three generation-long research and development."

Gamro700 tea lines are found at Lotte Department Store, Homeplus, emart, duty free shops and NH Hanaro Mart nationwide. First Lady Kim Jung-sook and U.S. First Lady Melania Trump shared a friendly talk over a cup of gamro tea named 'calm morning of Pyeongchang' during the PyeongChang 2018.

Currently, Gamro700 tea lines are exported to seven countries including the US, Japan, Russia and China with Japan being supplied to 7-Eleven. Taking the momentum, Gamro700 has recently opened a cafe Gamro700 around Gyeongpodae, Gangneung City. All gamro tea lines are sold at 10% discounted price as an opening event. Since it is a cafe, you can also enjoy a variety of drinks and snacks including coffee of course.
