Masan contributed to turning South Korea to a democratic society from dictatorship. Citizens are always proud of the March 15 Movement and the April 19 Revolution. The city once thrived with Masan Harbor, Dotseom Island, Mannalje Festival and Chang-dong before it took a road to decline. 

Former Masan mayor Hwang Chul-gon was always sorry that there was not a song that represented the city during his 10 years term. Being more leisure after retirement, he was determined to have a song and has recently released an album. 

"I love singing trot very much and always regretted that there was not a song to represent the city while other cities have one. So I wrote the lyrics myself and debuted as a singer."

The album contains 2 of his original songs alongside 6 existing songs. The 2 songs are 'Masan Love Song' and 'Love Masan Harbor' composed by Jeong Gyeong-chul who has written many famous songs.

"The harbor, Chang-dong, Mannalje Festival and Dotseom are in the lyrics of the song. As for the music video, Machangdaegyo Bridge, Chrysanthemum Festival, Robot Land and Jeodo Bridge are included. The melody is easy to sing along. I've spent a considerable amount of time in vocal training and practice. So I hope my songs and album can make Masan District of Changwon to be more known to people and prosperous once more as before."
