Cutting edge technologies like AI and VR seem to be applied to many and more areas of industry nowadays. Automotive industry, for example, is shifting largely to eco-friendly electric and hydrogen from polluted fossil fuels, and to single, two or three wheeled from four wheeled.

Proven technologies

Established in May 2013, a South Korean battery pack specialist HMG has proved excellence in global level eco-friendly batteries and smart control technologies.

The company has accumulated technical knowhow of BMS (Battery Management System), PRA (Power Relay Assembly) and PDU (Power Distributer Unit), the core technologies of EV, HEV, MHEV and PHEV.

Since 2019, HMG has supplied batteries for two and three wheeled vehicles to its client companies. From this year, HMG started supplying batteries for electric bicycles, electric scooters and electric kickboards, and from next year, it will start to see overseas market.

Certificates

Excellence of HMG has been well recognized by various organizations. The company listed its name in INNO-Biz, Main-Biz and Venture Enterprise, obtained certificates of ISO 9001, Daegu Pre-Star Enterprise and Employment-Friendly Enterprise, and recently signed a MOU with Beijing C&W Electronics Group.

Leadership

Kim Jin-sang, CEO of HMG, majored in electric engineering and earned a master’s degree in information and communication. He worked for a US automotive component company for years before starting his own business. His experience in the company equipped him with in-depth knowledge and experience and he made most of it to rapidly settle down his business.

October 2018, Kim established an enterprise institute IH and changed its name to EME Energy in January this year. Kim is much credited for his contribution to prior technologies of battery packs used in Hyundai Motor and Ssangyong Motor and is being actively engaged in various demonstration projects for electric automotive parts.

5 billion won sales

HMG surpassed 5 billion won ($4.1 million) sales last year. Having made a steady and stable progress in the battery sector, CEO Kim is now looking an opportunity in front and rear cameras for vehicles and heavy equipment.

“The cameras will be loaded with advanced technologies for better durability, temperature adoption, waterproof and dustproof. HMG will keep pushing forward its ambition for global automotive battery supply alongside upgraded automotive battery technologies.”
