He said that the need of the memorial hall was the need for us to keep the spirit alongside us and independence movement was not only about anti-Japanese but autonomy, freedom, equality, harmony, consolidation and humanities.

“Like the patriotic martyrs believed in liberation 100 years ago, we are sailing through the COVID-19 with solidarity and cooperation and we will make it through no matter how challenge the crisis is.”

Moon presides over chief aides meeting

President Moon presided over a chief aides meeting held April 27 and reviewed on the Panmunjom Declaration 2 years ago.

“The declaration opened a new era of the Korean Peninsula that has no war. However, the 2 years after the declaration was the time for me to realize peace does not come in a day. Expectations were high and disappointments were many. Yet despite the pace was slow, we made progress step by step” said Moon.

“I hope we can restart with the projects we can do together. Solidarity and cooperation are the very foundation for the declaration and we can also join hands to tackle the COVID-19 and to pioneer a post-corona era for win-win prosperity.”

Moon then expressed his gratitude to medical and quarantine teams for excellently dealing with the virus and said that the situation was still not finished and we must be wise to carry on daily quarantine, adding that the K-Quarantine would be the standard for the world.
