A South Korean cosmetics brand ‘KissKin’ is rising fast as one of the most sought after skincare products with record high sales figures at prestigious department stores in Gangnam District, Seoul. Without commercials, KissKin spread fast from mouth to mouth and celebrities have been spotted buying a number of products.

Celebrities’ choice

An actress ‘J’ bought KissKin bubble filing sheets and was spotted repurchasing after several days. An actress ‘K’ tested KissKin eye patch by chance and bought all of the KinssKin lines. A singer of an idol group was spotted being charmed by KissKin mask pack and she introduced its excellence on air of Get It Beauty thus nicknamed ‘idol pack’ ever since.

Quality but the price

Jinhoe Kim, CEO of KissKin, is confident on quality of the products that are second to none when compared to luxury cosmetics brands in the world. The only difference is the affordable price. This is because Kim believes that all women on earth are deserved to have beautiful skin regardless their skin colors and backgrounds. 

Proudly presenting eye patch and neck patch

KissKin eye patch and neck patch are the first to attract attention of shoppers. The innovativeness of these two products is that they are ideally used for specific part of the face such as around the eye and the neck. Kim got this idea when he was working at a department store and saw many women worried much about their wrinkles around the eyes and the neck.

Record high sales

Kim launched KissKin in 2010 and made a channel for AK Plaza the next year. It is unusual that a cosmetics brand entering a department store within a year of its launching the business. KissKin wowed the department by 7 times more sales figures than the forecast. This led KissKin to Galleria Gangnam on singing a contract the same year, followed by Hyundai and Shinsegae department stores. 

Diamond and secret emerald

KissKin has diamond and secret emerald lines: diamond eye patch, diamond mask, diamond neck pack, diamond filling sheet and premium diamond hydrogel eye patch: also, secret emerald eye patch, water pump cream, total solution serum and role-on eye serum. Eye patch in particular contains diamond powder for improved elasticity and waste removal.

Natural substances

KissKin products are made with natural substances such as tea tree leaf extract, gum tree extract, green tea extract, aloe vera extract and Jeju tangerine peel extract that are good for moisturizing, cooling, nourishment and elasticity of skin. Also the essence gel in the products improves wrinkles and dark circles. 

Expanding channels home and abroad

KissKin is found at the company’s homepage, department stores and Naver. Having expanded domestic retail channels, CEO Kim now is working on overseas market starting from China and then to Australia, Russia, Vietnam, Germany and the UK. He is using the most of the KOTRA centers overseas where he meets with buyers. The design of KissKin products are to be enhanced by Inno Design, a South Korean design company hailed by Bill Gates of Microsoft.

2020 Brilliant People & Brand Awards

KissKin won the 2020 Brilliant People & Brand Awards alongside a number of globally renowned winners such as Starbucks Korea, GS Retail and Robert Walters Korea. Organized by Herald Group and monthly <PowerKorea>, the awards find and rewards people and brand that have high growth potential in the respective year. 

 Social contribution

Kim is a man of entrepreneurship and of a good heart. He has donated to the Korea Artability Chamber, an orchestra consisted of people in general and disability. He also recently made a donation to soprano Youngok Shin on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of her debut concert held at the Seoul Arts Center. 

Growing KissKin as a global cosmetics brand

Kim says KissKim is here only because consumers recognize its excellence and good price. He believes that it is his job to grow KissKin as a global cosmetics brand and that way he can return the recognition and the support to the consumers.
