It is reported that 42% people actually die by toxic gas while 25% by the burn in a fire accident. What it tells us is that using smoke-free materials can reduce the number of death significantly when a fire breakout. The reason Seohan Antamin is in the center of attention is at its innovative eco-friendly semi smoke-free building material called ‘Antamin’. It is the result of years of passionate researches and trials of the specialists in the field. Today, Antamin is received highly for making a contribution to building a safer Korea.
900℃ fire knocked out by Antamin
The Koreans’ safety awareness seems to be improving gradually since the Sewol ferry disaster and a number of big fire accidents. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport rolled up sleeve to lend the cost of installing sprinkler or changing finishing materials of more than 3 storey buildings at a low interest rate. Experts interpret this move as a sign of improved safety awareness by both the people and the government.
The semi smoke-free building material Antamin, in this respect, comes as one of the promising building materials as it stands still against 900℃ fire. It has the KFI mark from the Korea Fire Institute and the eco-friendly mark from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.
Antamin is applied with high strength HPM which stands strong against wear, dent, scratch and pollutant. With this innovative Antamin as the face product, Seohan Antamin is providing a number of excellent building materials such as AH3T, AH4TS, AH6T, AH8T, AH14T, smart panels (luxury interior finishing material) and other ceiling materials and cubicles. Seohan Antamin is supplying these materials to kindergarten, school and the National Police Hospital.
“We are also supplying floor and wall materials and more product lines will be introduced through our excellent research and development system” says Gyoongil Lee, one of the CEOs of Seohan Antamin.
Safety Culture Association
Here is the trace of Seohan Antamin: Seohan Trade in 1983 – Daesung Enterprise in 1990 – Seohan Melamine in 1991 – INNO-BIZ in 2000 – Seohan Antamin in 2003. As of 2019, the company is actively engaging in research and development of the lower body plate structure of solar cell.
“Antamin is semi smoke-free and is fire-resistant. Antamin stood still against smoke and fire for 8 minutes at a test which is a meaningful result because the initial 2 to 3 minutes is the life or death minutes when a fire breakout.”
With these accomplishments in hands, the CEOs and the one mined team of Seohan Antamin have started their global ambition over Korea by opening a branch in Washington D.C. in the United States recently. Meanwhile, they are busy preparing to launch the Safety Culture Association (tentative) with their lofty goals of spreading safety awareness in South Korea.
