KOSOA holds a regular general meeting
The Korea Social Network Services Operator Association (KOSOA) held a regular general meeting at The Riverside Hotel Seoul on 18thlast month under the title ‘Don’t Stop Dreaming!’ The KOSOA and the Korea Character Industry Cooperative signed a MOU on the day and the Democratic Party lawmaker Hwang Hui opened the meeting with his congratulatory speech. The KOSOA was established to provide support for SNS business and for creating healthy SNS culture and contents alongsideprotecting the rights and interests of its members.
Building SNS business platforms for all
It is estimated that the scale of mobile shopping will reach to USD 34 billion in the coming years. In preparation for this massively growing market, the KOSOA is working on building SNS business platforms where everybody can start a business easily and at a rational cost.
“I’m serving as an assistant administrator of the Smart City Special Committee affiliated to the Presidential Committee on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Our job is to find how we can develop and use the current platforms in various areas in the field. If the idea of ‘city’ was rather like a material term, the idea of city today is more like an inclusive term that embraces making, selling, shopping, culture, resting, educating and health. In other words, the balanced advancement of these fields will be crucial for the coming age of the 4th Industrial Revolution. So I asked you, the members of the KOSOA, to take great part in building effective SNS business platforms for all and brining substantial results. We, the Smart City Special Committee, also will do our part to make contributions” said the Democratic Party lawmaker Hwang Hui.
Activities of KOSOA
The KOSOA has providedvarious benefits to consumers and introduced effective shopping events: 1212 SNS Shopping Day & 88 SNS Shopping Day. The idea of these events was that consumers could buy the products they want at cheaper price while the sellers increase sales and promote their brands.
Early this year, the KOSOA held the ‘2019 KOSOA Tailoring! Amazon Global Selling Seminar’ and brought up solutions to difficulties of re-sellers and small and medium sized merchants alongside amazon opportunities, marketing and distribution. It is also notable that the KOSOA joined hands with Kakao to organize Kakao Plus Friends Special Lecture for Real Use for reality-based connectivity and its synergy effect.
Taking the stage, Baek Woon-sup, the President of the KOSOA, compared the SNS market with the era of the Wild Wild West “In the time of the Wild Wild West around 1892, people could own as many lands as they could possible put their flag on the lands. I strongly believe that SNS market now is like that era. It will be yours as you put your own SNS flags on the lands. The lands are invisible because they are in virtual world(online) so you had better hurry. And I’m sure that these lands of opportunity in the year 2019 are at our hands of the KOSOA. We, the members of the KOSOA, therefore will work together to march forward step by step and grow together. Please ‘Don’t Stop Dreaming!”
