Park Hang-seo, a Korean and the manager of the Vietnamese national football team, is called hero in Vietnam for bringing the AFF Championship to Vietnam in 10 years.  

From no one to hero
Park served as a coach of Lucky-Goldstar football team (LG Corp) after retiring in 1989. He joined the Korean national football team in 1994 for the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the US and served as the right hand of Guus Hiddink who then was the manager of the Korean national football team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan. 

He took in charge of major football teams in Korea thereafter but failed to bring satisfactory results to fans and football associations. Moving to Vietnam, he led the U-23 and won the second place at the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship and created a sensation by making for the quarter final at the Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games. When the team Vietnam won the 2018 AFF Championship in 10 years, a national level heat wave swept the whole country which put the people in thrill. 

Leadership, leadership and leadership
In a nutshell, Park has pushed forward the team with outstanding leadership that has left a record of zero defeat on 18 A matches in Vietnam (9 wins and 9 losses) alongside the historical achievements in international matches. Park’s leadership can be best described as the Vietnamese word for father ‘cha’. The players call him ‘cha’ and his leadership is described as ‘cha leadership’. 

It is totally understandable that they call him such as if we know that he massaged feet of each player with his hands during the Jakarta Palembang Asian Games and yielded his seat to an injured player at the 2018 AFF Championship. 

And it is not surprising at all that the Asia Journalist Association appointed Park as an Asian of the Year 2018. Now the people turn their eyes to the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 starting from 6th January and will see whether Park will write another history in the chapter.
