Moon meets Bartholomew I
President Moon met Bartholomew I (Archbishop of Constantinople) alongside Ambrosios Zografos (Metropolitan of the Orthodox Metropolitanate of Korea), Lee Hong-jung (general affairs manager of the National Council of Churches in Korea) and Im Jong-hoon (father of the Korean Orthodox Church) at the Blue House on 7 last month. 

Moon praised Bartholomew I for his effort to bring reconciliation over religious orders and sectors and said “Korea is facing many problems such as peace, reconciliation, integration and damages of environment. I ask you a wise advice and teaching. I also hope you pray for peace in the Korean Peninsula.” 

Bartholomew I said in response “I thank you for a warm greeting and I pray for separated families, children in the North, peace in the Korean Peninsula and those who died in the Korean War.” 

Moon meets Kim Jong-yang
President Moon met Kim Jong-yang, President of Interpol, on 19 last month at the Blue House. Kim is the first Korean who took in charge of Interpol that has 194 member countries which is more than the members of the UN. 

Moon said “You are a pride of Korea and I congratulate you. I understand that the role of Interpol is becoming more and more important than ever due to crimes and terrors across the countries.” 

Kim said in response “I take this as an opportunity for the capabilities of the Korean Police to be tested and proven and I will do my utmost effort to bring excellent results.”
