The Embassy of Poland holds Independence Run on November 11th at Ttukseom Han River Park in cooperation with Seoul Metropolitan City.

Poland was ruled by Russian, German and Austrian Empires for 123 years and restored sovereignty as the Second Polish Republic on November 11th, 1928. To celebrate the independence, Poland has held Independence Run every year at 100 cities in the world including Seoul. The Independence Run in Seoul is free and everybody can take part.

Prior to the run, opening ceremony is to be taken place at the presence of officials of organizations that are in cooperative relations with Poland. Starting with national anthem, Polish Ambassador to Seoul H.E. Piotr Ostaszewski is to give opening remarks.

“Polish Independence 10/5K Run & 1K Family Walk is a race commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland’s resurgence as a sovereign country on November 11th, 1918. The Seoul race is a part of bigger endeavor that includes 100 races held around Poland and abroad on the same date” says an official of the Polish Embassy in Seoul.

The event will take place at the Ttukseom Hangang Park on November 11th 2018. The 10/5K run and the family walk will start at the 11:11am. All finishers will receive a custom running vest, medal, diploma and a backpack with a gift. After the Run, participants will be able to try Polish food and drinks.
