Handmade leather crafts workshop in Jamsil-dong and Sinseol-dong 
If you fancy handmade leather crafts and goods, make journey to Unblown (Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul), a workshop where you can learn the art or buy unique leather goods. CEO Yoon Sung-yong of Unblown studied handmade leather crafts for 5 years in Japan. “In fact, my major is fashion design but happened to know about handmade leather crafts by chance which I instantly fell in love with it. I learned the skills in earnest under the instruction of Konno Mayumi (My Leather Crafts) and opened my own workshop after returning to Korea” says Yoon. You can find many products from clutches and tote bags to money clips, wallets, spectacle cases and cup holders at Unblown. However, the apron is one of the most popular order to made product at the workshop. You might notice instantly of the luxury and sophisticated feel of the products and Yoon is strict on his use of vegetable substances to maintain high level of quality.

The One Day Class is the most popular day experience program at Unblown. The words of the class have been spreading through SNS channels since its initiation in 2016 and around 60 people are taking the class every term. Many of them have a variety of backgrounds from university students and salary men to soon-to-be owners of the business. Face to face or small scale class also can be arranged time to time according to the demands. The class covers the very basic skills such as using the tools and bringing up ideas for design and tailoring and completion. “Dexterity is advantageous but one’s will to achieve often brings better results. It normally takes 6 months to one year to obtain the necessary skill if you intend to open your own business with this art” advises Yoon. When asked about his future plan, Yoon said that he wished to establish a school specialized in handmade leather crafts in near future. But for now, you can find the Unblown workshops in Jamsil-dong (Songpa District) and Sinseol-dong (Dongdaemun District) in Seoul.
