“Helping people in need is as important as managing the business properly and productively”
The Korea Paldang Hydropower Plant donated 42 electric cookers to the Wabujoan Hope and Care Center on May 31. Prior to this in January this year, it donated 1,500 liters of heating oil to the same center which then supplied to 6 households of elderlies living alone. The Korea Paldang Hydropower Plant is located 35km from Seoul to the northeast where the Namhan River and the Bukhan River join. Thanks to the massive water influx into the river, the plant uses it to generate the power, to supply drinking water to the capital region, and to control the flooding by leveling the water. After every turn, the plant was eventually completed in December 1973 with 80,000km capacity; 29m in height, 244 million cubic meters in water storage and 800§©/sec in water capacity; the total expense was USD$14.08 million foreign capital and KRW 19.365 billion won. The plant today, however, boasts the global level technologies and eco-friendliness as ell as breathtakingly beautiful scenery. The Korea Paldang Hydropower Plant director Kim Gyeong-min said “Helping people in need is as important as managing the business properly and productively. Our making donations, therefore, is part of our effort in creating a better society for all.”
