Daejeon checks on Urban Regeneration New Deal Project
Acting mayor of Daejeon Lee Jae-gwan paid a visit to the sites of the Urban Regeneration New Deal Project and checked on the process. At the visit to Eoeun-dong, Yuseong District, Lee said “The street lamps in this area are very old and not enough CCTVs are installed. But I expect the project will light up the streets and alleys and bring leisure facilities such as children’s park and senior-citizen’s center.” The city is to pour KRW 10 billion won for the next 3 years to complete the project in remodeling the park, center and streets and building manless parcel collecting center and installing solar panels. At the visit to Sintanjin-dong, Daedeok District, Lee said “The problem of this village is the disorderly signboards of the stores. But the project will bring new face to the village.”
Daejeong launches gender equality campaign
Daejeong has launched a gender equality campaign called ‘We Together’. The campaign supports ‘Me Too’ and ‘With You’ and the city is planning to raise the level of the movement to ‘We Together’. The city is holding sex crime prevention education for the whole staff on a regular basis and is taking bold measures when found the problems through factual surveys. On the declaration day of We Together, the city organized a lecture from the director of Kim Young Sub Kunchook Moonhwa Architect Associates on creating a beautiful city and tasks of public design.
