South Chungcheong Province is to establish a welfare foundation
South Chungcheong Province held a briefing session on validity of establishing South Chungcheong Welfare Research Foundation. It will be a non-profitable organization that will provide systematic welfare services to the residents. The province realized the seriousness of low birth rate but aging residents and the 20 attendees including the acting governor Nam Gung-young agreed unanimously on establishing the foundation and its funding and operation after screening the validity on the legal basis. Nam said “The welfare budget of the province is KRW 1.9 trillion won, a 34.3% of the whole budget. But the actual results seemed not worth the money we have poured in. So, there arose the need for a down-to-earth support system and body. Therefore, we all need to work together and hard to obtain an approval from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the final stage.”
