The Naval Bowel Movement introduced by the Korea Kookhak Kigong Association is a new concept exercise; it stimulates microorganism in the intestine to secrete dopamine and serotonin and contributes to creating immune system and neurotransmitter. The exercise uses a supportive tool to help the elderlies follow the movement easily. The Korea Kookhak Kigong Association is an official member of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. It recently has been chosen as a finalist of the 2018 Senior Citizen’s Welfare Support Project for Private Organizations and started to spread the Naval Bowel Movement. The association is expected that this new concept bowel movement will help senior citizens promote their physical strength and improve symptoms of depression. The association is famous for spreading the traditional exercise of the body and the mind that has been passed down for many years. The association systematized the exercise based on brain science and meditational breathing so that everybody can benefit from the effect. It was first started in 1980 when a stroke patient learned the exercise at Anyang Memorial Tower Park and it went through a number of names before being approved as a corporation aggregate as today. Gwon Ki-sun, the president of the association said “Most of our members are aged over 65. We issue two private certificates (Kookhak Kigong Sports for All and Senior Citizen Health Instructor) and have 600 professional instructors nationwide as of 2018. We will keep doing our best to bring more innovative and effective exercises for senior citizens and the people as a whole.”
