300 people of Kookhakwon and 50 other organizations gathered together on April 25 at the Gwanghwamun Plaza to support peace in the Korean Peninsula on the occasion of the historic Inter-Korean Summit. Kookhakwon organized the event with the support of the Korean History Justly Know and the International Youth Kookhak and the representatives delivered the statement to the Blue House on the same day. “We expect the Inter-Korean Summit will bring the end of the war and peace to the Korean Peninsula, to Asia and to the world” said Gwon Eun-mi, Director of Kookhakwon. A congratulatory performance, citizen’s speak-out and declaration were placed in order. Gwon Ki-sun, Vice Director of Kookhakwon said “Kookhakwon promotes humanitarianism of Dangun. Naturally, we welcome the successful Inter-Korean Summit and the subsequent implementation on officially ending the war, Korea peace treaty, removal of the barbed-wire fence and mines in the DMZ, meeting of separated families, free travel between the North and the South and establishing a history research center.” Kim Chang-hwan, Secretary General of Kookhakwon said “Kookhakwon and 50 organizations pray to the sky to bring a great success to the summit and the follow-up actions to bring peace to the Korean Peninsula and to the world.” To continue the campaign, Kookhakwon is organizing unification and peace themed events in 16 big cities. April 21, Kookhakwon held the Earth Citizen at Korea History & Culture Park in Cheonan City. 12,000 people gathered together on the day and prayed for peace in the world.
