최근 대학입학 수학능력시험 결과의 아쉬움을 해소하고자 재수를 결정하는 이들이 늘어나고 있다. 국내의 한 교육조사기관이, 최근 36년간(1982~2017학년도) 서울 소재 4년제 일반대학 38개교 입학생(교대·산업대학 제외)들을 조사한 결과, 2017학년도의 재수생수가 2만9512명으로 역대 최대를 기록한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 2018학년도에는 작년보다 재수생들이 더욱 늘어날 것이라는 전망이 나오고 있다. 재수학원의 선택이 재수생활과 향후 수능시험 결과에 중요한 영향을 미치는 만큼, 재수생들은 신중하게 고민하고 결정할 필요가 있다.
