“The US curriculum directly delivered into a class room in Korea!”
Kim Gyu-ri, CEO of Oter English Wabu Center
“We cannot force children to learn English on the conception ‘the sooner, the better’. Instead, we have to help them find interest in the language so that they can be self-motivated. This way, they can gradually learn and use the language in daily life. We must remember that learning a language is not a study but ‘communication’” says Kim Gyu-ri, CEO of Oter English Wabu Center. Kim majored in English and worked as an announcer of YTN. “Back in the days when I was a child, I was energetic and liked mingling with friends. Making the most of that talent, I started special lectures on speech as a sidekick during the announcer career. I thought ‘this is it’ when I felt that my lectures can affect students positively and change their ideas. Looking for something which I can systematically use my enthusiasm, I eventually landed in teaching English.” Oter English Wabu Center uses the same curriculum used in the US and students have to go through the level test to be in the right class. “We use the digital text book of the US in the class alongside effective teaching materials such as VR and flash cards in order to maximize the results. Also, native speakers are closely working together with children as friends rather than teachers so that children can build confidence in using the language.” It is notable that Oter English Wabu Center opens its curriculum to the prospective students and their parents and gives an opportunity to experience the excellence of the class. If you have a child and are looking for a good English language institute, you are highly advised to knock on the door of Oter English Wabu Center since you have nothing to lose on doing so.
Note: <Power Korea> “rewrites” the Korean article in English “concisely” for native English speakers and staff of foreign missions in Korea.
