“Just say goodbye to your car, we will drive and pick it up!”
Nam Juny, CEO of GOODBYECAR Junkyard

The fine dust issue in Korea has become serious more than ever. It is estimated that 37% of the whole fine dust comes from exhaust gas and the government is pouring efforts in reducing the rate through budget increase and tougher regulations. Located in Yangju City, a car scraping service ‘GOODBYECAR’ is providing an all-in-one car scrapping service in accordance with the government policy to reduce the fine dust level. The junkyard introduced the internet-based nationwide scraping service for the first time in 2000 and obtained a venture enterprise certificate in the category of ‘technology assessment’ last September also for the first time among 540 junkyard businesses nationwide. The all-in-one service significantly reduced the time needed for the paper works and the process. The owner of a disused car asks a service online or through the phone without visiting as the tow truck comes to pick it up under the slogan ‘Pay today, Job’s done today’. “Fast, convenient and simple service is another name of GOODBYECAR” says CEO Nam confidently. With this all-in-one service as the springboard, Nam is ambitiously pushing forward opening 10 branches nationwide in the coming years. As part of this effort, Nam has arranged a TV commercial around March this year. “The reason we are focusing on facilitating effective car scraping service systems is because Korea is still behind in recycling the used cars eco-friendly like Japan. Also, we are working on developing ways to effectively reuse hybrid and electric car parts.” Nam worked for the Ministry of Environment in the division related to air quality and traffic and has given advice on reducing fine dust and contributed to revising related laws and regulations since 2005. He also published a book <Goodbye! Fine Dust> melted with his 10 years of experience in the field. “I believe that my job is more related to protecting environment than just scraping the disused cars. This is very important as this attitude has been driving force for my business.” If you have a car that you have to say goodbye to, you are highly advised to find out about GOODBYECAR.
