“NEXPAY brings innovation to wireless transactions”

NEXPAY is a company specialized in wireless payment terminals used in various smart phone transactions. The difference is that the terminals are directly connected to smart phone to make a transaction. It is very innovative considering the fact that there are about 4 million merchandisers, or vendors if you like, who are not registered for business. The current payment market in Korea is divided into VAN (Value Added Network) and PG (Payment Gateway). The former charges at a flat rate or ratio plan while the latter, customized for online shopping, at ratio plan. The idea of NEXPAY is at ‘offline PG’ that can make transaction mobile. The main terminals of NEXPAY are MS (Magnetic Stripe) and Integrated Payment that can also cover IC card. Now, the technology has advanced as far as making the transaction wireless in accordance with the ever increasing users of smart phone and the simplified transactions especially for those individual or small business owners. “Korea ranked among the top in using credit cards and smart phones. It is irony that around 4 million merchandisers are still neglected the benefit of this technology in Korea” says Choi Jae-ho, CEO of NEXPAY. Today, NEXPAY has grown as a leading fin-tech solution company. “We developed terminals compatible with both headphone-jack and Bluetooth. With increasing users of smart phone, the latter is expected to work faster and better than the former which experienced a slight delay in transaction.” Also introduced last November is this system: the seller sends SMS for buyer to click the URL: with the pop-up, the latter inserts card number and valid date to finish the transaction. Shopping Mall Pay, the other brainchild of NEXPAY, made it even easier as it is attached to a corner of a website, blog or SNS. It has become common that many businesses, big or small, in BAND, Kakao Story, Instagram and Facebook in Korea are using one of the innovative payments of NEXPAY. The innovation also has brought simplicity to hassling tax issues. “Our wireless transactions give a cash receipt and a merchandiser who makes less than 24 million won (USD$22,000) sales a year do not need to visit the tax office but the app automatically reports general income tax. In other words, it is not only good for individual merchandisers but also for the government to secure the leaking tax.” In recognition of his contribution made to the mobile payment industry in Korea, CEO Choi received the Ministerial Prize from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups at the Innovation Winner 2017. When asked about his future plan, CEO Choi showed his ambition to pioneer overseas market in near future.
