Delivering the very taste of homemade food

The newly coined term ‘jibbab’ – homemade food – arouses a sense of warmness and reminds us of the very taste of homemade food. Many of middle aged Koreans have memories of eating warm soups and seasonal side dishes prepared by the hands of mother. But they are rather regretful today being unable to enjoy the very taste and warmness due to their busy city life. Their only option seems to be enduring the strong-tasting foods in many commercial restaurants. In this situation, the advent of a handmade side dish store can only be good news: It is Homemade Food Store. All foods are made with hands and the business is run based on membership. “Everybody knows it is healthier to make food at home but that requires some time and effort. Our 300 kinds of menus including soups and stews are changing seasonally and they all have balanced nutritional values. Also, our same day cooking and delivery policy maintains the best freshness of the foods throughout the day” explains Choi Young-ho, CEO of Homemade Food Store. Thanks to this policy and balanced nutritional values, the sales are increasing day by day. “We guarantee to use the freshest ingredients only and all foods are made by our hands in strictly hygienic practices. We grow vegetables such as lettuce, cucumber, cabbage and spring onions without using agricultural pesticides and use Korean pork and chicken only. We also make soy bean paste and chili pepper paste on our own hands.” The members can choose a regular delivery day on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Since launching the business in 2011, CEO Choi has gradually expanded the delivery areas to Ochang, Naesu, Jeungpyeong and Osong from Chungju. “I think the business is still in the developing phase at the moment but when the time comes I will grow it into franchise so that more people can benefit from our healthy homemade food in convenience.”
