The originator and leading company that opened the age of pedal-type water saver and upgraded multi-functional sensor-type water saver
Vision Tech is one of the three representative water saver manufacturers in Korea. It was established in 2005 and has worked in cooperation with number of apartment and hotel rooms constructors. Vision Tech developed a water saver that has reduced water leakage more than 30% for the last 10 years and earned yearly KRW 4 billion to 5 billion sales. The company opened its eye to the need of developing original technologies by observing rival companies stealing pedal-type water saver. CEO Lee Du-hyun of May Tech, which commercialized the original technology of the pedal-type water saver, recently took over Vision Tech. Lee developed a digital cold brewer by using the principle of water saving pedal that solved irregular shooting capacity and hygienic issues of coffee machine. He recently showed his will to focus on development of new water savers. Lee, who boasts 20 years of experience in the field of water saving, predicts that the research institute and the circuit specialists of Vision Tech and the proactive R&D of May Tech will create a big synergy effect. Vision Tech received more than 1 million orders for the last 10 years and May Tech has secured more than 5 years of orders from companies including Daewoo E&C. Lee developed a body sensor-type water saver 3 years ago in cooperation with Jinmyeong, one of the three water saving device companies. The ultrasonic wave sensor-type at the initial stage showed possibilities of new technology application and the sensor method cannot be copied by the second movers. Lee predicts that the release of sensor-type water saver which realizes laser ultrasonic wave and ultraviolet ray sterilization functions will replace all existing pedal-type water savers. 

Succeeding application of new materials with 20% of whole profits into R&D
When in May Tech, CEO Lee poured 20% of the sales into R&D and currently is developing 5 new products. Lee says that the existing pedal-type is easy to use but the saving rate is set. So he has pushed forward the development of a saving rate adjustable water saver which is in the 80% of completion at the moment. He also emphasizes the importance of innovatively changing the valve that is put into the device. The existing valve was solenoid (German technology) which is optimized for washing machines but it has been incompatible with normal houses due to the issues on low water pressure for 18 years since the introduction. So Lee took it as a core technology and carried on a research. This new technology-applied product uses stepping motor (rotating up to the angles proportional to the number of vibration) and ceramic disc method. Also, this new technology-applied product will be released in the similar price of the existing solenoid valve. Lee plans to work together with a partner company up to the first generation ultrasonic detection and to carry on solely the development of laser and ultraviolet ray sterilization sensor under the name of Vision Tech. It is said that the new sensor-type will lead the water saver market by 2020 and the government sees it positive to install this kind of water saver in more than 1,000 apartment households. 

Overseas brand cooperation with a new item built-in drier, bright prospect for export outlet expansion
Lee says that human resource is most needed when running a company. Lee thinks that the more he gives to employees the bigger the company grows. Lee pays bonus according to the number of orders received and installation and overtime benefit to on-site employees with more than 3 month employment including after sales service workers also can receive 180% salary when compared to the same workers in the field. Also, bonus is paid to all employees according to their performance. As a result, Lee is expecting double the amount of sales next year and pioneering overseas markets. The water saver is already being exported to Vietnam and additional contract is expected to be signed with Saudi Arabia and Thailand. As water in each country is different in substances, Lee introduced polyketone for a research in a way to secure data that can solve precipitation and corrosion. During the process, Lee found the optimum balance that overcomes explosion of catapult due to excessive gas leak, and that is harmless and has durability. But to prevent the copy of the newly developed technologies by the rivals, Lee has succeeded development of a new item apartment built-in laundry drier. The Chinese built-in driers with similar functions cost around KRW 400,000 to 500,000 but Lee reduced the price significantly by one contract for water saver and drier built-in. Lee suggested technical cooperation to a home shopping company of Thailand boasting KRW 100 billion sales and they have had a mutual understanding. Lee already has made up of the investment fund by receiving 10,000 unit orders from Thailand and is planning to grow the business through volume sales at a low unit margin of profit. It seems that Lee’s passion and driving force can only make Vision Tech as a rational leading company in the water saving industry and the future seems to be bright.
